To obtain an optimal finish and durability of a coating, whether for decorative purposes or strictly functional, such as the protection of a given substrate, it is crucial to use film-forming additives. With this in mind, SYCO® followed the global trend and developed, over the years, the line of high-performance green coalescents, derived from renewable sources, which allow obtaining low to VOC free coatings, high performance and odorless.

The SYCO® coalescent line performs its function with excellence, assuring the film formation in a continuous and homogeneous way in diverse conditions of temperature and humidity. In this way, after the cohesion of the polymeric particles, using a SYCO® coalescent it is possible to obtain a superior finish, high water resistance, control of the desired gloss and leveling, in addition to reducing the tendency to leaching and dirt pick-up.

SYCO 121®

Chemical name: Acid-based ester

SYCO 121® is an extremely versatile coalescent, with high efficiency in reducing the MFFT (Minimum Film Formation Temperature) and provides high performance when compared to conventional petroleum derivatives.

SYCO 121® is indicated for high, medium and low PVC systems, with the most varied types of resins, such as acrylic styrene, V.E.O.V.A. and acrylic vinyl. It is recommended for high, medium and low gloss coatings and it is possible to show increased resistance to abrasion and coverage, in addition to low TAC.

SYCO 140®

Chemical name: Vegetable based ester

SYCO 140® is a coalescent, from renewable sources, of high efficiency in reducing the MFFT (Minimum Film Formation Temperature). It does not add odor to the coating and contributes to low or VOC free formulations, in addition to allowing a reduced dosage up to 20% when compared to traditional coalescents.

SYCO 140® is indicated for high, medium and low PVC systems, with the most varied types of resins, such as acrylic styrene, V.E.O.V.A. and acrylic vinyl. Furthermore, it can be used in sparkling pastes, textures and resin polymerization. It is also recommended for high, medium and low gloss coatings and it is possible to show increased resistance to wet abrasion and coverage.

SYCO 141®

Chemical name: Vegetable based ester

SYCO 141® is a VOC free coalescent, highly efficient in film formation, contributes to low or VOC free formulations and imparts little or no odor to the coating and during its application.

SYCO 141® is indicated for high, medium and low PVC systems, with the most varied types of resins, such as acrylic styrene, V.E.O.V.A. and acrylic vinyl. It is recommended for high, medium and low gloss coatings, as well as sparkling pastes and textures. It can provide increased dry coverage in high PVC coatings.

SYCO 142A®

Chemical name: Vegetable based ester

SYCO 142A® is a high-performance coalescent from renewable sources that provides high efficiency in reducing MFFT (Minimum Film Formation Temperature). It imparts low or no odor to the coating and contributes to low or VOC free formulations, in addition to allowing for reduced dosage up to 25% when compared to traditional coalescents.

SYCO 142A® is indicated for high, medium and low PVC systems, with the most varied types of resins, such as acrylic styrene, V.E.O.V.A. and acrylic vinyl. Furthermore, it can be used in sparkling pastes, textures and resin polymerization.

It is an additive recommended for high, medium and low gloss coatings and provides high resistance to abrasion, in addition to increasing coverage.

SYCO 143®

Chemical name: Vegetable based ester

SYCO 143® is a VOC free coalescent, from renewable sources, with high efficiency in reducing the MFFT (Minimum Film Formation Temperature). It imparts low or no odor to the coating and contributes to low or VOC free formulations, in addition to allowing for reduced dosage up to 20% when compared to traditional coalescents.

SYCO 143® is indicated for high, medium and low PVC systems, with the most varied types of resins, such as acrylic styrene, V.E.O.V.A. and acrylic vinyl. Furthermore, it can be used in sparkling pastes, textures and resin polymerization. It is also recommended for high, medium and low gloss coatings and it is possible to show increased resistance to abrasion and coverage, in addition to contributing to reduce water absorption in sparkling pastes and textures.
